Our Team
The following is just a brief introduction to our team members. We look forward to getting to know you and you getting to know us in the future.
Emilee – dental assistant
Emilee was a West Branch Warrior. She enjoyed soccer and track when she was high school. She became part of the Harkins Dental Family in 2016 after completing her YTI training and graduation. Emilee has an enormous love of animals and every pup she meets is her new best friend! She enjoys working with all of her patients and especially loves talking with her elderly patients. Her favorite part of her job is the reactions that her patients have when they go from a smile that they weren’t confident about into a smile that they can’t wait to share.
Carol – dental hygienist
Carol is from Windber. She makes the drive to our office three days a week and is more reliable than the postal service! On bad weather days we have to call her early and tell her to stay home! She has worked with us since 1999.
She attended college at Allegany College in Maryland, graduating in May of 1999. She has remained very active in her continuing education and is also licensed in local anesthesia from Pennsylvania College of Technology.
She is married and has three grown children. Carol has an open and very honest personality, she will tell you what you need to know! She is also very kind and good hearted. She loves dental hygiene and teaching her patients to love it also!
Jen-dental hygienist
Jen is from Coalport. She graduated from the Allegany College of Maryland and began working at Harkins Dentistry on October 9, 2000. She was licensed to perform local anesthesia in May of 2010 from Pennsylvania College of Technology.
Jen loves her career in dental hygiene and it shows! She cares about her patients and her coworkers and considers them as an extension of her friends and family. She feels like one of the most gratifying aspects of her job is helping her patients achieve dental health and knowing that she was a part of their experience.
She and her fiancé, Chris, have two labs, Bear and Zoey. They are definitely spoiled and well loved fur kids!
Ashley- dental hygienist
Ashley is from Irvona . She graduated from Allegany College in Maryland. She is also licensed in anesthesia. She began working at Harkins Dentistry in July of 2016. She is a kind and caring hygienist who really focuses on her patient’s needs and concerns. She feels that it is extremely important to take the time needed to provide the best care for her patients.
She enjoys the outdoors and hunting. She is also a huge sports fan and jumps at the chance to head to a football or baseball game!
Dr. Bill and Michele Harkins
Dr. Bill graduated from The University of Pittsburgh Dental School in 1986. He comes from a long line of dentists in his family starting with his grandfather, father, uncle and himself. Harkins Dentistry has been providing dental care in the area for over one hundred years. Dr. Bill has watched generations come through the door and has enjoyed caring for them. He truly enjoys getting to know his patients on a personal level. Continuing education has always been an important aspect to his career and he strives to provide the most recent and best treatment options to his patients. He loves knowing that he can help people whether it is relieving them from pain or giving them confidence in their smile.
His wife, Michele, is a dental hygienist. She graduated from Pennsylvania College of Technology in 1992. She plays a supporting role in the practice helping with whatever is needed. She works part time as a hygienist seeing patients and teasingly calls herself “Gofor” as in “go for this or go for that.” She absolutely loves the patients and the team that she works with. The reason she became a dental hygienist is because she loves when people smile and feels they will do it more if they feel good about their smile!
Dr. Bill and Michele have two teenagers, two dogs, a cat and a bunch of chickens. They enjoy their family time. When not spending time with the family, Dr. Bill is a football and basketball official.
